Hi,

Bobcart's dizzy is worn out and vacum died, so looking round ebay there are loads od 45d available new.

I know it will fit, but I suppose the vacuum advance will be different.

Has anyone fitted this model to there 1098.

Will it have any ill effect on a standard 1098. I am still using my car and the vacuum doesnt work, it feels to be running fine!

I do hope to change the head for a 940-hif38 carb later on as well.

Thanks

If it's only the vacuum unit that's failed then you can buy a new one from most suppliers for around £18 and just fit it to your original distributer.

If the price i right - go for a new dizzy. The advance curve won't be too far away - the original was set for leaded fuel - and therefore isn't right for todays unleaded anyway !

Thats what I thought, dont really wana spend £20+p.p for a vacuum for a 35yr old dizzy thats prob worn anyway.

Have seen new Lucas 45d4's on ebay for under £50, still cheaper than the 25's
