Indicator blink.

Post by Maguire »

Hi all

Have a 1969 2dr saloon. When indicating left the green flasher on the end of the stalk is fine however when I indicate right the bulb flashes once and then stops!

Has anyone got any Ideas?

Usually it's an indication ( :) ) that one of the indicator bulbs isn't working!

Check the external bulbs first.
If they are ok, then it's most likely that one of the buls has a dodgy contact (either in the power feed, or the earthing).

Merry Christmas,

Colin

blown bulb on that side? (should change flash speed but if the flasher is about to fail it may result in something like this)

poor connection on the indicator switch?

Otherwise the flasher unit itself may be about to give up. I found on my car that would happen from time to time and replacing the unit (5 quid) fixed it.

That's exactly why there is a little green light on the stalk - to tell you about problems with the blinkers !
