I have to say she is very solid! I only saw 1 patch on the floor that just needed painting! How come Onne always finds the nice ones

It has a 948 with 803 head (

) with 948 block. 803 box, I am not sure yet about the axle.

I'll take some more pictures tomorrow.

One thing I have found out so far that she used to be registered as GRP 243, which is a Northampthon registration. We picked her up from Bedford, 25 miles from Northampton

Sadly one of the previous owners sold the plate, she now is VSJ ***(which is Glasgow!) ... At least it goes well with VWJ, my '55.

948 head was exactly the same as 803 head - so no loss of power there.

Weird little gearbox the 803 box though.

You start in first, then change to first, then into first, then into top gear!

It all seems to be very nice indeed, she is running lovely now.

Well done ! The old pudding stirrer gearbox is very weak and fragile - be careful with it. I'm not absolutely sure - but i suspect the later internals from a 948 box can be fitted in the early casing - to let you keep the pudding stirrer.

I love the fact that it is indeed a pudding stirrer. Brings out the true Series II!

I am working hard to get her done

I have fitted some hockeysticks today, after refitting the wings, trying to get the doors to fit, finishing the wiring, getting the engine running all right.

Just leaves me to investigate why my dynamo isn't charging.

She is still in the same sorry state, needs new sills.
