I am due to put in my new clutch this sat(tomorrow) and gave everything a check over tonight just to make sure i have everything. the problem i have is that my clutch alignment tool isnt long enough to line everything up. this is the tool that i have done many clutches with....

does anyone have any tips as to what i can use to align everything?

All ideas will be gratefully recieved

I always make one up when needed with a Socket ext bar & suitable socket with a repair washer fixed part way down the bar to line things up - nay probs.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

I've not yet invested in an alignment tool.
I used to use a wooden valve lapping tool and would electrical tape around the handle until it was a snug fit with the mating parts.

After I lost that moving house, I downgraded to a wooden spoon handle!!
The wooden spoon handle diameter was a bit small so it also required a bit of eyeball #2 (or a tape measure) to ensure that the spoon handle is sitting smack in the middle of the clutch cover fingers/bearing.

I use a socket extension bar and masking tape... both my mark 1 and mark 2 eyeballs need re-calibration

alignment

I too have used the wooden handle of the standard valve grinding tool with
tape around it successfully for many clutches.
