removing the speedo clock

i am a new owner and am needing to fit a new speedo cable to the back of speedo and a bulb but i can not work out how to take it out. the haynes does not tell you. can you help please.

Look in the gloveboxes for holes. There should be one either side of the speedo. Loosen, but DO NOT REMOVE the screws hidden away in those holes.

Pull speedo out.

Refitting is the opposite, just make sure you get the screws lined up close enough so they slide into the brackets.

It may not be quite as easy as that! Sometimes need to remove one or even both glovebox liners to get at the thing properly.

If you remove a glove box liner you may be able to ge the cable changed without removing the speedo - it's hard to get pliers in there to undo the ferrule but can be done.

Be a little careful if you remove the speedo - it has been known for half the bulbs to come out of their holes when doing so - then you have to find out which holes they went in...

Don't let any of this put you off - it's not too hard, honestly!

I thought that was the fun bit. You wait for a light to come on, and try to work out what is going wrong :D :D :D

Plus if you swap the high beam and the oil light, you can give yourself palpitations when driving at night :D :D :D :D :D :roll:
