Anyone know what size the wheel retaining nut is on a 68 four door please.

from memory i think it is 15/16" but i cant be sure. its an unusually large size so a normal socket set wont have it. you might get away with a slim pair of molegrips.... hope this helps.

3/4" Whit or 7/8" BSF is correct size.
A 33mm socket fits (only 0.02mm difference) !
Don't do what I did recently, after realising I didn't have a 1/2" drive (I'd got a 3/4"), and buy a decent 33mm deep impact socket.
The wall thickness means that it's too large to fit into the standard Minor steering wheel hole that the nut at the bottom of
In the end the thinner walled 3/4" drive 33mm socket fitted.

I think you mean 15/16"

OK, so it's really some Whitworth or BSF, but my hex 1 5/16" socket has never failed to remove them, same as on most Minis and Metros

And dont forget to not remove the nut completely as the wheel will be stuck on the splines and if you tap or wiggle it to free with the nut off you will probably chin yourself, so leave it on a few turns.

last week I persuded my wife to help me bleeding the brakes - and you guessed it - I'd only pushed the steering wheel on so when she pulled on it to push on the brakes she got a face full of steering wheel!
How I laughed, but not for long. She trod on me while I laying under the car and I banged my head on the floorpan.
