Hi all, after buying a car with no keys I have just received a set of lock barrells from ESM for pre 64 two door saloon. My question is what are the three barrells for? one for the drivers door, one for ignition but the third, I assumed was for the boot lock but there seems to be no way to fit it.
Any advice will be very welcome.

There is a very well hidden little pin that holds the lock barrel together. I can't quite remember where but I do remember finding it after I cleaned it up really well! I know thats not much use  , but don't give up!!

Thanks Roger for the reply but, no joy. I have taken the hole thing apart and have now broken the new barell trying to put it all back together again. All I wanted to do was have all the locks on one key.
I have now bought a new lock complete and still cant see an easier way to change it?

I'll have a look tonight - I have one in pieces waiting for a new barrel.

Hope I can see how it goes back together!!

Hi, You need to put the key into the lock (detach from key ring as this get in the way and scratches) undo the 4 screws that hold the latch mechanism inside the bootlid. Look into the hole and there are two studs I used an 8mm 1/4drive socket to undo them and the handle comes out from the front. Clean it up really well and about an inch or so in you will see a small hole where there should be a small brass coloured pin. You need a small punch/screw driver to push the pin out ( Ihad to use a gentle tap with a hammer to get it move). The lock should them come out quite easily, keep the key in or all the bits spring out and then it will be almost impossible to reasemble. Hope this helps, Jeff

i've got the old lock in my hand, all in bits, the only roll pin is the one holding the square shaft on the handle. There is a washer a spring washer and a dome cap that is "pinged" on the shaft holding it all together. The lock works by the nipple on the barrel moves the lock pin up and down. I cant see any way to just remove the barrel. You may have a different one like the ignition one that is removed by depressing the pin. HOW DOES THIS THING COME OUT??? I now want to get the new one out so I can replace the key pins of the barrel I broke. Any of this make sense!!!!!

i dont know how the locks are put together but normally you have to have the key in so the pis move in which then you are able to get the barrel out

sorry its traken me a while.

You can see the two pins that hold it together in these pics. The way I got to the pins was to hold the collar shown by the green arrow in a vice gently and tapped the square shaft and lock out. Then remove the spring washer and any other washers and you will see that if you turn the key half way you can remove the handle from the plate. The pins shown by the red arrows are then accessable.
