Chassis number stamped on floorpan.

Post by paulhumphries »

During the change of a master cylinder I noticed that the original drivers floorpan has a small area of the bitumen scraped away and the chassis number stamped.

Is this normal or has a previous owner done such ?

Must confess to have not noticing one there, the main one being on the drivers side bulkhead thats often covered in paint.

I have a very vague memory of reading that there was one there when they left the factory, which would mean that you still have an original floor.
