Hello All,

Has anyone tried the Sealey shot blasting pot?

If so is it any good and will it handle reasonable areas, or is it just for spot blasting?

I'm not sure which Sealey sandblaster you mean.

I've a -
Spot type with rubber adapters and grit recycling - ideal for odd rust spots on bodywork.
Gun for larger jobs - I do it on the back lawn as it as the sand gets everywhere.
5 gallon hopper type (made out of an old gas bottle)
Small bench sized cabinet.

Sandblasting is always a horrible job.
You need a BIG compressor and protective gear.
Even then you will probably wish, if a big job, you'd paid someone else

It's a small hopper type, but as it's cheap and cheerful (about £50) I wondered if it would be worth a go.

I usually get my blasting done by A N Other and agree I should probably continue to do so because as you say it's a pretty disgusting job

It would sometimes be handy to be able to do a bit for myself.

I just looked at commecial ones for sale on web pages and decided I could make one far cheaper.

That looks like an ingenious bit of kit Paul.

It looks like you could blast a biggish area with it assuming it had a good air supply.

Frost sell a similar looking blaster to the Sealey one I mentioned but it retails for £205 in the current catalogue.

I'll probably end up making a blasting cabinet to do the small stuff and paying for the big bits to be done
