You could do as I chose and use the inner ring that secures the headlight to hold the peak. The peak is more pronounced this way (I did it this way for that reason). Just put it in, put the screws in and wiggle about to the right position and then nip them up.

Yes the headlamp rings can be a pain to get on, and use a bit of masking tape for where the screw hole is as its a so and so to find which is why there are quite a few cars without the retaining screws in place.

Thankyou for your replies....I managed to get the outer rings off its just sooooo fiddly to get them back on again with the peaks in place.
No screws though...
I will just keep trying...!!
many thanks again.

Thats the only way, twist, wiggle, push & tap and after you struggle with the 1st one the other may fall into place if you have my luck.

My view is these are extremely dangerous - imagine the damage the sharp front edge would do to a human in just a very minor bump!

Thats why they are affectionately known as 'Pedestrian slashers'

Or less affectionately as 'kidney cutters'. Hard to believe that they're all that dangerous - aren't they made from metal about as thick as bacofoil?

Yes they are. I'm sure as anything they would just fold. Mine are distorted from people lightly knocking them as they walk past in car parks.

I've always thought they're a nice period mod to hide not so period head lights (halogens in my case).

and certainly head height for a child,

...as is the glass of the headlight and the bonnet emblem. I just don't think they're increasing the dangers substantially, though I still wouldn't have them because I don't like them :D

Yep and nicely curled over on the edges to the only sharp edge is under the chrome ring

Did you get the peaks fitted??? I am going thru the same problem. They have holes but don't seem to line up with any thing........

The peaks are held in place by the headlamp rim nothing else.

I have fitted mine so that they are under the headlight rim .....correct ?? They are not tight fit and move if you touch them is this normal??.....

Then do not touch them. If I do not touch mine, they do not move. :D

I fitted my peaks in around ten mind. Secure them with the outer ring.... that's all. It was quite straight forward reall.y. But they do look really cool now

Mine also move if pushed. There doesn't seem to be any way to secure them, other than the friction between the outer chrome trim and the peak. I couldn't work out what the little hole was for either.

Once the chrome trim is in place, I push the peaks back in as far as they'll go. With a bit of twisting and sliding, they seem to end up central and quite tight.

(Until the next time someone walks into them  )
