Magnet needed to rescue a nut

Hi

TO BEGIN with, I need a magnet on a long bendy wire like a car aerial.

Repairing a trafficator seemed to necessitate removal of the seatbelt.

Don't ask.

Down went the [prob size 14] nut into the 'A' [?] post.

THEN....How will I replace it when the only access seems to be through the narrow slit that houses the trafficator?
Long nose pliers? Tis a thin slit.

AND THEN how do I join [solder?] the so thin piece of wire that sits in the yellow plastic arm? Broke off at end near to the car.

The channel in the plastic it thin too. So no possibility of using electrical tape.

Nice simple job....so I thought.

Grateful for any pearls of wisdom :o

My local pound shop sells, or did sell, a telescopic 'aerial' with a magnet on the end for jobs like that. Not too strong a magnet but worth a try
.

Hi Chrissie

What you need is a complete wire to replace it with & guess who's got one of those. You will need to drill out (may pull out) the broken piece from pivot end of Traf arm & then solder this one in place.

PM your address & I can pop it in the post for you.
