My Dad says there is a lot of judder from Whitemog when he reverses, though going forward is fine. Any suggestions of the possible causes? Clutch? Gearbox?
This is very common on Minors and many of us learn to live with it after having checked the obvious things such as loose engine mounts, gearbox
mounts, adjustment of the top engine steady bar, and security of the rear axle mounting points etc. also check that the bottom engine steady cable
(between the gearbox casing and the gearbox crossmember) is set so that there is no slack but it is not actually pulling the engine back as this can be
the cause of a varying operation of the clutch if the gearbox can move forward or rearwards. to prove if it is the clutch itself see if the judder occurs even when the clutch pedal is not depressed whilst reversing. If it does
then it is NOT the clutch.
