tax ex display
do i have to dis play any kind of tax exempted disc or????????? thanks
Having a valid Vehicle licence disc also means that the MOT and Insurance status have been checked before issue.
Ok, this means that your MOT & Insurance are valid on the 1st of the Month, and can expire just after, think of it as an annual audit...
It also makes sure that the DVLA don't think your registration number has just "vanished" and then re-issue it!

A friend of mine never used to display his tax disc in his Minor convertible, it was in his glove box. It was only mentioned to him once in 2 years and he said he had one stolen from inside his windscreen so now kept it safe in the glove box. The plod wasnt too impressed and told him to display it, but he didnt!

With modern day cameras that would not be such a good thing to do, recently one of the women at work denied having driven into a bus lane when sent a fine, so they then sent her a copy of three pictures the 1st showing when both wheels had crossed into the bus lane the second when fully in the bus lane overtaking the queue of traffic and the final one showing her face complete with the earings she was wearing just in case there was any doubt who the driver was, so the big brother technology is already here and operational. It was only mentioned to him once in 2 years and he said he had one stolen from inside his windscreen so now kept it safe in the glove box. The plod wasnt too impressed and told him to display it, but he didnt!
Cheers

And they will automatically check the road tax/insurance and MOT status from the reg number - to see if they can nick you for anything else!! You must display the tax disc on the 'nearside' of the front screen. Nothing says it can't be right in the middle - just slightly to the nearside, and upside down !
