hi, will a traveller rear seat bottom fit a two door saloon?

can anyone confirm that the rear seat back from a traveller won't fit a saloon?

thanx

I cant be sure as I have never tried it but the Traveller seat is designed to tip forward to give a flat load bay so I would have though that the base of it is different as the saloon ones lift right out but are tight to the sides unlike the Traveller ones, and if you look at the trim kits they have different part numbers for each model type.

I am pretty sure they are different. can't really check atm as the trav seats are buried under a mountain of rubbish...

I don't have them side by side to compare, but I'm pretty sure they are different. The Trav seat hinges forward and has a fairly stout bar across for the hinges to attach to. It also has a base to form the end of the load area.

The 2-door seat has very little frame - I was fighting one out of a car this morning to get access to the well underneath. The seat has very little frame, and little rigidity out of the car. I think it has pointier ends where it fits round the wheelarch.

The trick is to just tackle one side while slighty bending it inwards and it will pop up.

Yep, that's exactly what I did. I've looked at enough two-door saloons in the last few weeks to be able to do it in seconds now...

Don't have to any more though :D
