My indicator switch ( the one on the steering rod with the green light at the end) is working ok when going left, but when going right it sometimes will stick in upright possition but most of the times it won't. anybody any idea if it looks like I have to buy a new unit or is it repairable ?

Hello Pim123,
I don't quite understand the problem?, are you saying that the lever will move to the left indicating position but when indicating right, it does not stay there? If so this is a problem with the self cancelling system.
There is a striker screwed into the steering column, (rod) that should sit between the two arms on the indicator lever. You will need to remove the cover that surrounds the switch to see what I mean. To correct it, the simplest way is to disconnect the steering column between the brake and clutch pedal, rotate it until the striker is correctly aligned then re connect the steering column.
This situation could be due to incorrectly adjusted tracking, with too much adjustment made to one side only.

Alec, IF it sticks in postion, it is cancelled in a normal way when yhe steering wheel is in it's forward possition again. It does not feel like a fault in the self canceling system but in the switch itself. What is holding the switch in right possition seems weak and sometimes doesn't mannage to get a good 'grip' of the switch

Hello pim123,
Ok, then it seems as though the 'detent' that holds it in position is defective. Probably a new switch is required in that case, but it is worth taking the cover off and having a closer look, possibly you can do some sort of repair?

Not had one of these apart, but do they use the little spring loaded plastic thingies?
Could be a plastic thingy has worn/ fallen out if they do. And taking them apart, finding all teh bits that ping everywhere, and putting them back together is a really good way of spending an otherwise dull few hours... ;)
