what is the difference between electrical and mechanical versions of these, (apart from the obvious) and which is best to have.
just trying to find out which i should go for.

I'd go for a mechanical gauge, they are more reliable, and also very easy to fit

Well, I tend to go for quality. Which tend to be helpful for the first two things
I have just bought a Magnolia faced Smiths mechanical oil pressure gauge, which is jolly nice!

it is only cheap if it is good quality other wise it is an expensive lesson
where did you get your guage and fittings as you seem happy with it.

Merlin Motorsport at Castle Combe circuit
I did pay around £70 for the gauge, including all the bits and bobs, but it looks and feels right.
My car won't be getting her birthday present anymore

51 isn't such a landmark age anyway
