Fitted rear seat belts yesterday with my 7 year old apprentice (could not have done it without her) and they work perfectly

Now to the front. i have a 1968 2 door with static belts and was wondering if the nuts that hold the fixings were captive (inside sill etc)
if so are they metric threads? or do i have to reuse the exhisting bolts instead of the ones from the kit?

If the kit came from a Minor specialist there should be no problem on the last ones I did I used the new bits with no problems.

Yes came from ESM and the rears went in a treat so really happy with them so far!
just not sure if the nuts are captive! ( the car does not appear to have ever been welded, and still does not need to so should be original!)

They should be captive, and they most certainly should not be metric!

Though if new bolts were supplied with the belts, and it all came from a Minor specialist, the bolts should be the right ones. If the threads are clean enough then seatbelt bolts wind in quite easily by hand, so the easiest way to find out is to simply try them

Maybe you can help me ? I have a 1965 2 door saloon which has only one pre-drilled hole for seat belts in the sill, probably put in when the sill was replaced. The other end will goin the floor. But where does the middle point fit? The B pillar does not have a holeand captive nut, which is where later models have it. There is no way of now fitting a washer inside the pillar.

My question is - Where do I fit the 3rd (middle) anchor point?

No they dont on the 2 doors just the 4 door and Traveller thats why there are 2 different kits, the 2 door one is longer because the middle anchor point goes underneath the side window I have just measured mine and its 12 1/2" back from the edge of the `B` post when in line with the underside of the window, to see the fixing point for the kit you will probably have to take the rear side panel off my car is also a 65.

Thanks Kevin. Does that mean that the sill nut and that fixing point are off set ie not in line? What if I used the triangular area where the window rail and the B post meet? Then the belt would form a vertical line? Anne

Yes.
They are not designed to go there.
