Flasher unit / indicator woes

Hey guys.

I'm having a bit of an ongoing flasher unit problem so i'm starting to think the problem might be something else. The interior warning light for the indicators always stops working, but the indicators themselves still work fine. Changing the flasher unit works for a small amount of time, so its not the bulb. I wondered at first if it was just a run of bad luck with the flasher units, but its gone way past bad luck now! So any help in spotting an underlying problem here would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

I had the same problem it was a a bad connection at the flasher relay. But you can get a similar prob if you have a bad earth at one of the indicator lamps. Make sure they are flashing brightly if not the problem may be there.

Checked all the conncections, everything fine. Since no problem could be found, decided to open up the flasher unit just to check. Turns out thats what the problem was after all. Found an extra set of contacts which were not touching when the relay operated, which is why the pilot light wasnt working. Bent them a bit and now problem solved! Lets see how long this lasts! Thanks for your help, much appreciated! (Bit gutted I had replaced so many of them before checking this. Never mind! All fixed now! :D )
