i have one of these kits but do not have any instructions. all seems really simple but i was wondering if anyone had a copy of the instructions that they could email to me?
only fitting it so it is easier to check the fluid level as i know how lazy i can be and if it is easier to check then it will happen more often!

Most seem to leak! I wouldn't bother. How difficult can it be to lift the carpet aside and pop the top off once every 3 months ?

Correction, the cheap versions leak.
If you are running drum brakes then mechanically there is no reason to use one. However if you just want ease of checking the level , then you should replace the top cap with a non vented one, don't be tempted to fill it with glue as perscribed by some. You will also need a new rear cap with a union to feed the cylinder. PM me if you require these items.
Location point for the tank is a matter of choice but most are mounted on the inner wing to flitch plate, just check for clearance when the bonnet is shut.

I was just about to fit a brand new one (with a disc kit) to Joe last night and it has fractured too. That's the 3rd as two failed on my last car.

Send it back and purchase a better one

bmc i do not have a problem with checking under the carpet, however my wife has! and as the likes of ford understand this and went to the effort to colour everything yellow that needed to be checked or topped up it is for those that cannot be bothered to put a little time and effort into car care, so if it going to encourage her to check it then it is by far the lesser of 2 evils.
cheers jonathon, have the union connector for the rear (i assume) tubing, bottle and fixings for the tubing. is the vented cap the one on the bottle or the exhisting one on the MC?

The vented cap is the original one on the top of the m/c. It must be replaced with a blanking cap.

I hear that there might be problems with these kits . I am just about to get one . Can anyone tell me what the problem is ?

Some appear to fracture very easily (must be made of chocolate) - or to just weep fluid from around the connection. I don't see why this is - it's not a very technical bit of kit - could probably put it together with a couple of quid's worth of bits from RS Components!
Tickman - imagine expecting your wife to check the fluid levels ! Tch tch tch - that's MAN'S work (ducks down quickly).
If you don't have a non-breathing cap for the master cylinder - then the fluid in the high mounted reservoir will slowly flood out through the breathing holes. And the reservoir cap must breathe - to allow in some air to replace the fluid that's run out through the various leaks.
Personally - this all seems too much bother for very little gain.

Mine all went on the curved base of the plastic bottle or the neck below.

There is still an alternative which has never leaked,broken or fractured.
