Something simple?? Rocker cover removal

OK... nothings simple (everything ends up involving everything else!)

Removing the rocker cover - do I need to know anything? And putting it back on... again, anything special to know?

I'm assuming I can just unbolt it to get it out the way, then bolt it back on after. Or am I wrong????

Just want to check!!

Thanks all

B

Undo the two boltrs and lift off. BUT - have a new gasket on hand in case it's needed. The old gasket may crumble and tear. If so - scrape off all traces on both surfaces - then glue the new gasket to the rocker cover - and fit to the head with NO glue or sealnt on the head side of the join. The rocker cover bolts should just be 'nipped up tight' - not cranked down as hard as possible ! This way in future the gasket will always stay with the cover and can be used over and over.

You might find it fouls the heater valve to the rear of the head - a good bit of wiggling should see it clear.
