Exposed flywheel and clutch

After much deliberation ive decided to refit my 1300 marina engie and box but to get the morris pedal assembily to fit ive found the only way to do so would be to chop a section of the bellhousing away.
In doing this the pedal assembily'll fit but the only problem bieng a portion of the bellhousing will be not there so there will be a section of the flywheel and clutch exposed.
Im thinking about fibreglassing over the missing section of the bellhousing to cover it up again as I cannot braise. Whats the general veiw about having the bellhousing cut? I know that the Fiat box requires a section to be cut away and the Midget box has a section opened.
Personally I cant see the problem with it but is there an MOT issue about this. Im not expecting huge use of the car tbh and only expect dry use and club shows etc so its not like its an everyday driver.
Any ideas??
