Max was fitted with one of these ..

http://www.fuelflow.co.nz/index.htm

Given that that was 11 years ago and they are still in buisness they can't be too terrible ..

According to the site they "should be fitted as close to the fuel tank as possible" to avoid vapour lock..

I was thinking that for Max I should fit this pump next to the fuel tank and send it forward with the solenoid (for the LPG conversion) on the floor at the front and then flexiable tube going straight up to the carb.

Any thoughts ..

Why? Some specific problem with them?

I was assuming it was the collision switch! If it's a pump, and it works - use it. Pumps mounted under the car get soaked/covered in salt spray/mud/snow - and therefore don't last long. And are then very inaccessible when they let you down on a dark wet night in the middle of no-where. Keep it dry and warm.

And I didn't even look at the link - "Fuelflo" was also the name of one of the "boost octane, improve mpg, use unleaded" type that were generally proved to not work. Obviously completely different system. I'd still prefer the pump where I could get to it. Mind you, this unit can't be any more unreliable than the modern pumps made for the Minor.

Why not a collision switch? It does sound like a safety feature, even if something else to go wrong.

don't fit one if you ever want to do a bit of dirt roading!

As for SU pumps - they may stop occasionally but usually will go again (unless you've ignored completely burnt away points) and as they are mounted high up underbonnet then it is not the worst job to change one in the rain/dark if you ever need to.
