A curios problem.....whenever I accelerate my stereo goes off! LOL!!! My husband is calling it a "Safety Feature", Im getting irritated now as I have nothing to sing to.

he investigated all the posibilities he could think of and the stereo is currently running to the input side of the regulator with an inline fuse. Short of the obvious that the radio is buggered does anyone have a clue what the problem may be??

Well I hardly think it's down to G forces! When starting to press the throttle the cable to the carb tends to straighten ie: moves, could it be in contact with the wiring of your radio? They are near each other at the bulkhead, maybe the cable is lifting the wires slightly causing loss of contact somewhere. A long shot, but possible. Good luck.

Could be a bad earth.

To check the radio, disconnect it from the existing wiring and connect it to a 12v car battery and give it a good shaking while it is on. If all is OK then make sure the earth connection (in the car - to the radio) is OK by wiggling the wires with a resistance meter connected between it and the body. Also do the same with a voltmeter and the live feed to the radio.

It must be a loose connection from the sympton you describe Jane, another connection that`s worth looking at it the inline fuse connections especially the spring it hasn`t become very weak so that contact is sometimes lost, and is the fuse completly sound.
