low front end

hi, my friends convertible, 1969, is about two inches lower than mine on the front end, whilst this gives it a kind of hot rod appearance, my question is why?

The front suspension height is adjustable. Or it just could be collapsed due to rust. Too low is bad - the car hammers the bump stops - if they are even present - and pushes them up through the front inner wings.

it won't be rust as it's had an awful lot of work done to it but i suspect it hasn't been put back together quite right, torsion bars are favourite, i'll pass on the info.

Has the crossmember been replaced? This is where I traced back my ride height problems to, when re-assembled the ride height was set 3 inches too low.

CLIFF, there is an adjustment plate at the rear of each torsion bar where it
is connected to the centre cross member. It has holes in it and each LOWER
hole will raise the car approx 1/4 ". If these would not raise the car enough
then it is necessary to move the torsion bar one spline (= 1 1/4 ") at the front
end. At the front there should be an upper rubber buffer visible above the
top of the swivel pin and the gap on level ground should be about 1 3/4".
