Thanks to all on the last problem with the hif carburetter for my mates pickup.

Here's another problem which we are to face next
Its regarding the fitting of a kenlow fan.

We have now run the car with one of the original fan blades just to help keep it cool while we were getting it going for the first time.

We are going to do away with this and fit a kenlow fan which he has .It will sit in front of the radiator and inside the front panel.

I have made all the brackets (well only two actually)for the kenlow to fit into position but we are unsure as to were to mount a switch for the thermostat.

He has a very old type switch housing and thermoswitch which runs in between a radiator pipe i think.He took this from a moggy traveller his mate had broke for spares a while back. I can not gauruntee if this still works..

Now he has a thermostat housing off a metro i think and it has a black screw in plastic cap on the top of it.

Would any one know if this would be a good place to mount a thermoswitch for the Kenlow.And is there a switch availible to fit into here.

I'll try and get a picture of the housings we have .

Or any one got a better idea for the thermoswitch?

It goes with out saying any help would be fantastic.

I wouldn't bother with this, just fit a manual switch and fit a temperature gauge, then switch on fan when it reaches about 85 degrees C - which it will only do when sitting in traffic.

Any auto switch is going to be troublesome - I agree - manual switch!!

When I talked with Kenlowe (couple of years' ago),

They recommended a "puller" fan (behind the radiator - not in front),using a thermostat switch.

The switch actually fits in the top radiator hose, using a silicone rubber seal with a small slot to allow the wires to pass through.

Probably worth looking up the web-site and contacting them direct

I'll pass this sound info on to my mate.

It sounds a simple idea just to fit a flick switch and have a temp guage.

He may well do this for now but i am sure in the end he wants it set to the kenlow with a thermoswitch.

I'll have a word with him about this.
