they are jolly expensive, and I don't know if they are interchangable, but probably not...
you could go for a set of later ones, but I'm not going that way...

Hi Steve
To fit the later cylinders & still retain the MM hubs'drums you would need to modify the backplates & fit the later hoses. ESM do a conversion kit which has everything you need - 2 modified backplates, 4 cyls (inc bolts), 2 bridging pipes, 2 hoses, 2 bleed nipples. It is about £130 from memory but the Ali cyls are about £60 each.
I recently fitted this kit to my S11 which has the MM set up. The other alternative is of course to convert it totally to the later set up but of course you would then have different wheels front & back etc.

Can't you fit the SII/early 1000 backing plates along with the wheel cylinders ?
You can then use your original drum/hub & retain the correct outside appearance.
Maybe the backing plate mounting holes are different spacing, in which case you'd need to change the suspension leg/upright too.

thanks lads, im gonna go with one of these ideas, not paying a stupid amount of money for something u cant see, so long as the the outside looks original!

Like Scott, i am sure you can fit the 803/948 7" back plates to the MM uprights and then keep the MM hubs and stud pattern but use later cylinders. I haven't tried it myself but am told it works! If it were that easy though, then why would ESM go to the effort of making a kit to do the job?

well the other car has the later 8" set up so ill swop em over, no way im paying £240 plus vat and postage for 4 cylinders, oh noooooooooo!

.
this one was in the boot of the lowlight, no sign of corrosion inside, anyone want to take a chance and swop something for it, a used boot handle and key would do, with niceish chrome, steve

Steve,
I am interested but unsure if i have a boot handle without looking! Is it the Series MM type you want with the through holes for the screws rather than the later type with the studs fitted? If you let me know i will have a look and see what we can sort out! Any other requests if not?

Steve,
If you fit the 8" brakes, you won't be able to use the Series MM wheels like you could if you retained the 7" brakes (using the MM hubs).
