I would like to fit an aerial for my stereo –I am on Minor on tour later in the week. Trouble is with my car resprayed, I am very nervous to make a whole.

I have measured up the position on my old wing (20cm from door edge on top of l/h wing) but I know this use to rub on the wheel very occasionally on full lock . Has anyone got any measurements that definitely work! Alternatively is there an internal aerial that works so I do not have to drill into the new paint work?

It's a bit unusual but I've sellotaped two rows of 5 amp fuse wire about 3mm apart round the inside sides and top of my wndscreen. I used Sellotape diamond ultra clear tape, so it hardly shows from the outside of the car. The fusewire is soldered to the central wire of 18 inches or so of coaxial cable, with the outside wire connected to the car body. With a coax plug on the other end connected to the radio it's served me for a couple of years picking up all the FM and AM stations I want. I suspect if listened to critically a proper aerial would out perform it, but considering you are inside a moggie it works fine. With no holes in the car!

Over here, Halfords sell then (so do lots of other shops).

You may be reduced to the on-line shops ....

I've just removed one from my car, so if you want to pay postage (and buy some sticky pads to stick it to the windscreen) - sent me a mail...

I've just fitted a roof mounted aerial by using a sheet metal punch (19mm diameter). The punch cost £5.70, and creates a perfect hole (you do need to drill a pilot hole ca 10mm!). Offers for the loan?

I now am the proud owner of a window aerial -I am very impressed on the results. I will now be able to listen to the lovely French radio stations on our european advernture!!!
