I'm about to attempt to respray my restoration project, but I don't know what sort of paint sprayer I should be looking for. Can anyone recommend anything?

I have a spare rear wing to practise on first, do you have any helpful tips for me? At the moment the paintwork is very cracked and has probably been oversprayed in the past (Snowberry White to Maroon) so would it be better to go back to the bare metal?

Also, any advice on how much paint I should order to cover the outside of a car?

Thanks - I got an error when I tried to print it off, so I'll have another go later with a less tempramental printer, and have a proper read through it all then. How are you getting on with your spraying?

If your paint it cracked, you are best to go back to as close to bare metal as the cracks. It will look sharper and have better protection.

I'm doing a repaint at the moment and am using Acrylic Lacquer. I was told that 3 ltrs was heaps by many ppl including panelbeaters. But a few said 5-6 ltrs. In the end I got 4ltrs as it was just as cheap to buy another 2 later if I needed it. Now as I have painted the interior or the cab and engine bay (I'm doing a complete respray inside and out of a ute) I think I'll be using the 6ltrs.

But to answer your question re the outside you may get away with 3ltrs but to be on the safe side make sure they have a formular for mixing any more you might need.

How are you getting on with your spraying?

It may be some time before I start spraying, I've got to restore it first!!
