Emptying Master Cylinder

This may just be useful to somebody, I know it has been to me. If you need to empty the master cylinder, get a turkey baster, a large pipette with a squeezy bulb on the top. It makes it a cinch to transfer the fluid into a jar...

Or... a large medical syringe.

Turkey baster is probably easier to get hold of though.

Yup - I can do small syringes by the score (legally, folks - I have to inject myself every day with an MS drug

) and I could use them too - but the baster is dead easy to find

No. You wouldn't want to 'brake with tradition'

If you are working on the brakes, you normally get ample opportunity to drain the fluid, without needing to take it out of the reservoir :?
But yes, if you want to drain it like that ,it works well. You can even get a huge pippette thingy especially for this purpose (we have one at work)

But if you (f'rinstance) just want to change a pipe quickly, it's just the job
