can anyone help. The last thing i done was trying out a rev counter just losely wired in the engine bay to see if it would work.

The next thing i know is the fuel gauge has stopped working.

I have eathed out the sender wire on the tank but not getting a reading.

Any ideas as where to start looking next.

You may well not be getting anything into the guage, meaning nothing can come out through the sender. If you've got the later setup with stabiliser, then you'll have dark green into that which should be at battery volts, and a light green coming out that should be at 10.

The dark green is the ign switched live, you can check it's getting power through the fusebox first as that's easier than pulling the speedo out IMO. Best off using a voltmeter, but at a push a test bulb will do as the main thing is to find out the last point you have power.
