bleedin brakes!!

Hiya all,is there a special method to bleeding the brakes after a cylinder rebuild?Just rebuilt mine on my "52series mm but cannot get a single drop of fluid to come through.Any advice gratefully received.All the best,john.

Hi John,
which cylinder have you rebuilt??
If it was the master cylinder, then loosen off the rear T piece and pump until it squirts, then retighten. (if it doesn't squirt out of the back of the m/c then it's not working!
Once it is pumping fluid, it ought to pump out to the wheel cylinders.
If you've drained the whole system including pipes you may want to bleed it up to the front and rear T pieces, although more for superstition than for any technical reason ;-)

Try the two person method - pump up the pedal, then assistant briefly opens and closes the nipple. Repeat until satisfactory.

It was the master cylinder.Have not tried loosening the union off.Give it a go tonight and will post here ,whether it works or not!!Thanks for the advice.John.
