Can anyone recommend a goo to help seal my gearbox cover plate. It had a thick coating of grey stuff like bluetack.
Do you mean the plate bolted to the side of the gearbox, or the cover that fits inside the car underneath the carpet between the floor pans??
If its the first one, i'd use a gasket to keep the gearbox oil in and for the bolt on panel that coveres the whole gearbox dum dum putty to seal out any water ingress from the underside of the car.
