So ..

How do you get the dash trim off .. It seems to be stuck with the "Star" clips on the back that are basically impossible to remove ..

I can get the trim off the spare car by cutting a section out of the dashboard with an angle grinder and then cutting off the clips from behind ..

Problem is i can't do this on Pod .. is there an easy way to remove the clips ?

the chrome side pieces have nuts on studding x 3, on each one. remove the chrome, and the switches, and the alley plate should come out. if not, carfully break these star clips that have been fitted, and fit new chrome. try removing the speedo to gain better access.
ps i like the letter box on your front wing.
if you damage our need any replacment chrome or ali plate. i have loads of them.

I don't suppose you have one WITHOUT a hole for the ignition lock, do you? Late travellers had them and the ignition/steering lock on the column - I've got the column, I've (now) got the lock, but the plate... :(

No I'm afriad not .. (personally I have a horror of ignition locks on the coloum) I can't think of what you could put in to make it look "Origional" .. I was thinking of putting two red indicator lights of 60's vintage (theres a bloke on ebay says he has an "Inexhaustable supply" of them a quid each.) into the holes on mine and just keep the spare trim until I have a mirror on a stick and a nailfile and a load of time and some spare swearing ..

hi ging

you should have looked on ebay about 6 weeks ago, i sold a new old stock one in ex condition.

the panel is the hardest bit to get.
but also morris did put a cover plate on when they ran out of no hole ones.
did that make any sense

I didn't know that - wish I'd seen yours. Thing is, it's not original to that particular vehicle, so I've gathered the column and a replacement lock and key for it, but only have holey plates - might be useful for some sort of cunning cut out switch. Or something :D
