Judder
I, like a few others, had juddering transmission when reversing. Suspecting the gearbox mounts I replaced them. What I discovered is a problem with the crosmember. Nothing is visible underneath. It is the diagonal plate within (holding the rubber mounting) that has partially fractured because the weld has failed.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

You can change the mounts by taking off the gearbox cover. Slacken the lower nuts and lift the gearbox slightly with a jack. Don't go too far as you will put a strain on the pedal shaft.
I'll have some photos soon when I find the lead that connects the camera to the PC.
I'm kind of glad I had to do the job as I've discovered a grommet missing from a rectangular hole in the passenger footboard (no idea why it's there) - a good source of water into the car if ever I saw one. Also I have hovered out the chassis legs which are in a pretty poor state and will need replacement soon without prompt and copious waxoiling. And the gearbox was so oily it's been cleaned off now and I've discovered it's a gold seal unit!

I've decided, after ANOTHER day spent trying to put Arthur's engine back together - and failing - that he's getting a re-con one, so I need to take it out - so there's a chance to replace all the rubbers. I reckon the Austin engine that's in there will be a little easier to work on OUT of the car
Is that enough things to do?

normally the holes in LH floor are for LHD components (the same shell was used for RHD and LHD cars and they just bunged up the holes.I'm kind of glad I had to do the job as I've discovered a grommet missing from a rectangular hole in the passenger footboard (no idea why it's there)
Obviously the spare holes are meant to be bunged up, then the most likely source of a leak are the holes on the RH side where the pedals go ;-)
