Seat cleaning

Post by Tris »

I'm currently half way through cleaning up the seats in my mog and i'm using a turtle wax foam which has a scrubbing brush. It is working well but is quite a slow process (and my arms are hurting) is there anything more effective?

Yes, use autoglym rubber and vinyl care. Just spray it on and rub it off

I have always found the simple, old fashioned, Vanish soap bar to be very effective.

I took the covers off, used all surface cleaner, a scrubbing brush and the shower :) Came up beautifully :) It also gave me a chance to check the springs & foam etc and see what needed replacing!

Doesn't taking the covers off make the job harder? though at least you can get to it all easily :D

It does make it easier to stick everything in the shower without worrying about rusting the seats :) I'm sure Bob's seats are much cleaner than Minerva's were, putting them in the shower made it easier to wash everything away!

I used Gortex walking boot cleaner. It was all I had in the cupboard. Then I mixed gey and blue shoe polish to give me the right colour to polish my blue grey seats.

That brought back memories of my motorcycling days - used to polish the seat on my triumph, but I won't say why!!

If your seats are leather there's no reason why you shouldn't use colour matched shoe polish/cream leather is a skin so it's like moisturizing  if vinyl use prepaint(not thinners) wipe to clean it 'll take years of grime of with not alot of effort (I used to be a car trimmer so you know  )
