Can't tell for sure on the front wheels but the rears look like the 800cwt wide rims

The sun was out today, so I took my Dad for a trip out in the Pickup to get some bits from ESM,they have this Austin A35 in the carpark and It brought out some hilarious stories about borrowing his brothers A35 while he was away in the RAF. I also bumped into a colleague who I had no idea was interested in Morris Minors, he's doing one up as a second family car.

and on the way back we dropped into the Blackboys pub for a pint of old Sussex Ale, silly not to really,( my Dad is looking after my mothers little dog while she is off visiting my sister in America) All the way there and back with no mechanical problems, I would have had gloveboxs and hubcaps, but they are out of stock.[frame][/frame]

I didn't come away empty handed of course, the sound deadening kit for the bonnet.[frame][/frame]

also some replacement panel clips for the door cards, for when I dismantle the door to renew the locks, the instructions for the sound deadening kit strongly recommend removing the bonnet to fit the quilt, the kit contains vinyle to metal glue, but i'm convinced it's not the vinyle side I'm sticking, its the grey matt side to metal I'm glueing to the inside of the bonnet.[frame][/frame]

something like this, but of course, stuck in, with the hardwearing vinyle side toward the engine to fend off dirt and fumes . I still have some sprey glue from my last sound deadening session, I'll use that instead.[frame][/frame]

with carefully placed props holding the pad in place it sprey glued in very easily, mainly due to being partly held in place by the bonnet holdup bracing. Can't wait for the glue to harden so I can test it out for noise level.[frame][/frame]

Hopefully the spray glue won't melt with the heat from the engine....

well Ive been using the pickup for a couple of days and the spray glue I got from ESM Seems to be working ok, until now I'd only used it on the cab side of the bulkhead, I don't know how much heat builds up on the bulkhead but it appears to be stuck fast[frame][/frame]

Ive got plain stainless hubcaps on order, I'm looking at glovebox inserts, they're £25 each for a piece of waxed card! Finally the heater is on the radar, and this is the better one of the two![frame][/frame]

The heater is worth stripping down completely,get rid of all the rust, primmer, paint ( Satin Black ).
Give the vent tubes a good long soak in soapy water, dry and a little vinyl spray will work wonder usually, unless they gone too far.A good flush of the matrix forward and reverse.Stick new bits of foam ( closed cell so it doesn't soak up water) in where appropriate.
Check out the wiring and clean off dust, a very light grease of the shaft.You can get new on / off switches if the chrome is too far gone.Care with the vent flap plastic knob they can be quite brittle, ease off gently.It's "crackle finish" paint on the metal vent flap.( Practice with the crackle finish, there's a knack ).
You can use Letraset white letters to re=label, note the postions/words carefully before reaching for the paint stripper.A steady hand is required for the lettering,rub gently with a smooth soft'ish object ( wooden lolly stick ) before lifting the back paper.
When re-assembling place the jubilee clips so you can reach them ,when the heater is back in situ, in the car.

Thanks Bob, nicely summarized in note form, I can print that off and use it for a workbench guide. The screws all came out and it came apart with nothing breaking, but oh dear the vent rubbers were very fragile and have split at the joints when I took them off.[frame][/frame]

the rubber hose has a spring arrangement in there, very complex, I don't know if I can get replacement hoses, I'll have to look that up, cutting them back to good rubber might mean they are too short, lets see.[frame][/frame]

placing the drill in a vice allowed me to manipulate the metal vent over the brush, getting rid of any loose rust.
The brush is turning in this shot, I should have cut out the flash and used a slower shutter speed.

The original label can be cleaned and re glued on later, the switch seems to be ok.[frame][/frame]

as Bob mentioned the type setting on the heater front will have to be re set with letraset or something similar.[frame][/frame]

I'm keeping the worst heater together for the time being, it'll make a good pattern for when I come to rebuild the restored one.[frame][/frame]

kurust liquid is good stuff, I use it all the time, and so far (touches head) it hasn't let me down, the pickup has been out in the rain and no bubbles yet, I could be tempting fate here.[frame][/frame]
