I saw a 'Job Lot' on ebay, being sold by someone on behalf of her father, who had sold his Traveller and was clearing his garage out.
Auction had a Buy it now of £45, with an Offers Button.
Chancing my luck, I offered £40 and they bit my arm off, accepting within the hour.
It consisted of:

When I went to pick it up, I had a little chat with her dad and when we went to get it all from the garage he said, .... "I've chucked in 3 Coils as well, don't know if they work but you might as well have them".
So I thanked him for his generosity.

Having got it all home, I've found that the 3 Coils are original 1970s, 2 Lucas and 1 CI (who I'd never heard of so looked them up) and all of them work . Bonus.
The Starter is clean and has new brushes fitted, it looks to have been professionally overhauled decades ago and never fitted. Spins smoothly.
Not looked at the Dynamos yet, but he did say one was the spare he had for the Traveller so it was a good one.
So long as the windings are OK, I've got the spares t there to overhaul them.
All the brushes and bearings must be worth £10 each.
Such a generous bloke, so I did feel a little guilty, ...but only after I got it all home and went through it all.
It's not often you can find a good deal with a Job Lot.

That's quite a haul for 40 quid and I imagine that you're very pleased with yourself. Nice one.

I come across these bargains from time to time too but have so far resisted the urge to buy them because if I start, I'll never stop. Then I'll end up with the largest Minor spare parts department in Germany and only half a dozen customers!

Was there even such a thing as Deluxe Series MM cars? I don't recall such a thing. Later cars, series 3 onward had standard and deluxe models but not sure there were ever deluxe MM's.

I was given to understand that "Deluxe" simply meant that you got overriders and a passenger sunvisor fitted, as opposed to not getting them on a "Standard" model.
I would imagine finding an original standard model, that hasn't been retrofitted with them at some stage is now quite hard in itself, throw into the mix the fact that some people now remove their overriders out of personal preference (times change), which would make it even harder to identify a genuine one.

Hi Mike, the differences between standard and deluxe seemed to vary with the series of car. The presence of over riders was certainly one thing but for example with s2 travellers, standard cars had a rubber floor mat whereas deluxe cars had carpets ! In later s3 cars, the differences included vinyl and leather seats.
Many cars will have been changed over the years but the chassis number will indicate the spec, as will a heritage certificate, if the owner is that keen to find out.
