If you need a new ginger bush, better get outside and cast your seed before the weather gets too chilly.

Bedding-in during autumn is quite effective

Like turf, either bedding in or a good laying. Sometimes a large stake is needed to prevent wilting or detumescence!

After blooming should the bush be deflowered?

Opinion is divided. Some favour defloration or a damn good plucking, others prefer to leave to nature.

The Ginger bush has finally gone but the Sticky Willy is rampant it has encircled my Purple morning glory and is holding it up seems very strange.

Sticky Willy is a weed, paint on a preparatory detumescent. Purple Morning glory should need no extra support and although you have said that the Ginger Bush has gone, there re alternatives such as the black bush , white bush and the classic fresh flange !

It sounds as though all these plants could do with a good forking ( to let some moisture into the ground)

I must admit that I like the sound of the fresh flange but I think the White bush would be more suitable for me.

Incidentally, is Mrs Burnham talking to you again or are you still banished to the sofa? :D

Yes chaps back on the sofa. My remark that I fancied a fresh Flange didn't go down very well at all. I had the same trouble a few weeks ago when I said I was going to Screwfix. It took a long time to convince the present Mrs B that it was not a dating agency.

Would a trip to Tool Station help to educate the missus of your ways :P

Only to purchase a new tool and perhaps nuts , which, I suspect Mrs Burnham28 may have removed by now. She should not really worry, because whilst a Fresh Flange is immediately, and rather, albeit superficially, attractive, a well ploughed and frequently planted and tended furrow is often the best way forward.
