Re: 1971 Met Panda "Rosie"
My experience is ask a women to help, me and my wife did this together for another Morris.
Before removing the old wire from the car, connect a small rope on it, to put it in his place again when ready.
Note:
Sometimes the place for the wire is too small to get it in the new headlining.
And, organize about 10 meter small stainless steel wire, because the original is sometimes to bad to use again.

For what it's worth, I'd suggest using new wire every time one fits a headlining -- when I put a new headlining in Mog I used the old wires, and upon retensioning two of the wires snapped.
Luckily they snapped near enough to the screws that I could relocate them to a nearby hole, but could never tension the headlining all the way! With new wire, I could have avoided this.

The way to a man's heart may be making food, but the way to my heart is buying me car parts!

Headlining in, not too happy with it but will see if the wrinkles can be smoothed out. Rear window now in after an hours work with 3 of us doing it. Interior in, quite a big job as you can't buy the correct door cards and panels for the police cars so we had to hand carve them from blocks of marble. Brand new brake line failed when trying to bleed out the last bit of spongyness. Very impressed with a certain east sussex based supplier who are sending a replacement even though I bought the set well over a year ago!
Photo's to follow when I have time.

Failed the MOT on a wheel bearing, nothing else, no advisories
It would have been nicer if she had just passed outright but I can live with replacing the wheel bearing

It's been a long haul, but she's now taxed and tested and will definitely be attending the National
