Ive not seen one of those, but Ive heard that the ones made in Shri-lanka have issues with incorrect top plate location, so they need work after purchase to make the cab fit. Still, better than that horror I had.
And an option I may consider if my second chassis (at the blasters)plans don't work out.

We have a pickup in at the moment which has had a new chassis fitted. Its not as well made as the original but certainly looks the part. I cannot comment on plate positions as we were not involved in its build. At about £600 it represents good value even if it needs a small amount of tweeking. It would move your project on a fair amount too and save the heart ache of coming up against major hurdles time after time.

Here is a dejected looking pile of scrap parts, the front bumper blade has started to break down, the vallance is crumbling, this was from my first pickup relic field find, the steel mount is salvagable. but this little pile is due for the scrap yard.<br><br>

While the chassis is away being blasted, Ive taken out some parts from storage for inspection. As I mentioned at the begining I purchased a basket case cab and chassis, with the sale was a number of loose parts, like this rear bumper, did pickups have them as an option or is this not really part of it and was thrown in by mistake?
The bottom piece is the relic front bumper bar cleaned up.

That's a Traveller rear bumper - Pick ups never had one - Just rubber buffers....

Ive got a rad Moqwai, from the basket case, i've done a leak test and it holds its water, the matrix is clean but a little bent in places, the scrap one has had one almightty wollop on its bottom plate and is bent in about an inch. trouble is if you keep junk stuff storage space becomes an issue, hang on I'll post a picture of my usable one, let me know what you think of it.

does rad weld liquid work if you have a leak???

yes it does as i had 4 leeks in mine and it worked

Thanks psl184, I thought it was surplus to requirement, thats another bit for e bay, all helps to pay for the project.
The picture is of my bumper pad, no don't laugh. Its in storage, theres parts Ive not seen before, its a bit like making an airfix kit without the instructions, just bigger with more welding, rust, bolts....

Josh has just e mailed me, he's right, I'm daft scrapping that gearbox tunnel, might serve someone. I'll give it a go on ebay, any money toward the restoration project musn't be sniffed at.<br><br>

I was only put off by this cut, but anyone with welding gear could fix this... right ?

well its hardly worth the postage then, back on the pile. I'll offer it to the fella thats coming tommorow to pick up my spare cab back. Its last chance of finding a good home.

That gearbox tunnel/cover went to a good home today, never a moggie part wasted where we can help it. On the subject of reusing parts, both my radiators have got major problems with rusted away parts or leaks, anyone know a good radiator restoration company, got to be less expensive than a new one.

Here we go again, same deal as before, except this time its a chassis I can use, so money well spent, thought you'd like to see some shots of it before its painted and assembled, nice medium grey sandblasted finish. It'll look even better in fresh new chassis black.<br><br>
