Hello people!
It looks like my Moggie Quest is over! I am off to see Grumpy Grandad's baby blue beauty on Saturday! I have done the classic let the heart rule the head but he kindly put her through her MOT and she passed with flying colours! He has sent me numerous pictures and she is a gorgeous girl, if all goes well on Saturday we will be winding our way south in the late afternoon sun (ok maybe a bit optimistic there!) to start our adventures together! We already have a ton of places we want to go in her and friends lining up to ocme with us!
Fingers crossed now for Saturday....!

I'm totally new to all this! I've recently purchased a 1971 Morris Pickup and whilst it has been running ok it has suddenly started to stall whenever it stops and is almost impossible to get started again. How can I find out if there are any other Minor enthuiasts near to me. In all honesty I probably should have got someone to check it out before I bought it!! Hope there is some one out there that might be able to guide me. Thanks in advance - Ani (I've attached a picture of her)<br>

ani - it will be the carb piston that is sticking which causes your car to stall each time to come to a stop. You will need to take the top off the carb and clean out all the bits you end up with in your hand. Just be careful not to bend the needle. Get hold of a workshop manual so you know what to look for. If you send a pm to "bmcecosse" he will send a link where you can download one from....

If I were going to fit a stereo would you recommend converting the dynamo to an alternator??

I have stereos with dynamos on both of my cars and listen to them almost constantly when I'm driving. An ordinary stereo doesn't use a lot of power - usually less than 5 amps.
A better reason to fit an alternator would be if you commute to and from work in the dark in winter - I have to top up my battery with an external charger about once a week when I'm doing that.
