The bottom of the drivers door, Ive managed to keep the original channel for the bottom seal free from weld damage.[frame][/frame]

Mounted up without too much trouble, the bolt plates give a small amount of adjustment, the bottom edge needs sorting out and a slight bend needs correcting, boy it looks rough at the moment doesn't it.[frame][/frame]

The door is quite a good fit, it opens and closes rather smoothly, far more than I was expecting.[frame][/frame]

you may want to try some door seals before finalising the fit of the doors

Yes there are no seals fitted so far, I'm going to get it painted then fit all the rubber seals, so you are right Dennis, there will be some adjustments over the whole vehicle after the paint job has dried.

I found I had to 'adjust' the flange that the door seal fits on - best done before paint!

Ok thanks, Has anyone got a reference photo of the flange that the door seal fits on? Ive not got any seals to fit yet, but it looks like I need to gen up on them before I order any.

There's only one flange David... and it goes all the way around the door aperature. Buy a door seal, tap it on, then close the door. I then tapped the flange with a rubber or wooden mallet from inside the car until the rubber seal touched the door all the way around except for the flange that runs along the bottom. Here the sill cover goes over the top and two seals on the door sit on the cover in two different places, where the flange is and on the slope.

Just looking at that pictue, can I see the glass in the back window.

The doors are temporarily fitted up till the door seals arrive and I can then make the final adjustments, but for now its dead handy having them fitted and up and out of the way. so little space for storage.[frame][/frame]

Now I can turn my attention to the front wings, they've been in the loft in storage since I got them for a song earlier this year.
Sadly once I got under the paint their true condition became all too apparent.[frame][/frame]

The beautiful paintwork hid a multitude of repairwork which has blistered and rusted out under the surface. My next decision is to chuck or repair, are headlight aperture repair panels available?[frame][/frame]

front offside (right) wing, after grinding back to fresh steel, there was enough good metal to save this one. There is a large amount of filler that needed sanding back to the small amount of rust, small as it was it was still causing the paint to bubble over the filler.
Rust killed, and fresh filler ready for sanding and shaping.

The nearside (left) wing, after sanding back there was no good steel left around this area, the whole headlight area has rusted away. So result, this one will be scrapped and I have already ordered a "pattern" replacement from Bull Motif for £78.50p I hope they are as good as the Heritage version that are a lot more pricey.[frame][/frame]

Ive already paid the money, so I'll just wait and fit a new one, should be here in a few days knowing Bull Motif.

Still awaiting the new wing for the passenger side, in the meantime Ive bolted on the repaired wing for the offside, needs flatting off around the headlamp rim and at the tail end where I ground out some rust. When I get the door seals along with the wing I ordered, I 'll be able to make all the adjustments to get the shut lines even, (I live in hope)
Looking at it, its starting to look like a Morris 1000 pickup.[frame][/frame]
