Let's get this right in my mind.....
We have a Great-Grandmother and a 50yr old Traveller driving
to Greece with an old bed and bench on the roof, the handbrake
is to the side of the bench whilst Paul McCartney drives 32k to the
nearest Datsun garage.
Is this correct?

And now we know! £165 for the engine - slightly more than I would pay, and well short of the £350 Buy Now . And £ 112:50 for the gearbox -which is about right assuming it has only done 32,142 and not 132,142 miles.......

Last I heard he was going to pull the ad, and keep the engine for some convertible he wanted to buy. Can't keep up with this story. Entertaining though it is.

Got to hand it to you John, that's a terrific career progression - apprentice mechanic before you were 18, a full 35 years in the motor business and still managed to qualify as a barrister before you retired. My advice would be give up on the car restoration and start a new career as a motivational speaker.

I wonder who bought the engine and gearbox? Anyone on here? The engine had been partly opened up for some reason - but I wonder if new gaskets were fitted when it was re-assembled... Could be a few leaky surprises for the buyer...........

If your spellings a bit shaky you could get confused between "barrister" and "barista"......
