If the down pipe was 1" shorter it wouldn't be playing accompaniment on the hole in the lower bulkhead which would be an improvement.

Ive tried the percussion tool again and have seen various images with metal cut away but wonder if anyone has a better solution?

On the basis of your note, I'll grasp the batton and set about tuning things to fit.

Loosen all the 2 straps off again, so the exhaust can move up a bit. Place a jack under the siencer to take the weight off. Put a bit of wood in between the hole were the exhaust goes out and the exhaust. Re attach your straps and remove the wood, hopefully should be in the right place. Chances are it will now hit off the centre crosmenber - when it warmed up a bit you can get a bit of movement with a strong bit of timber and bend it down slightly. Ive had to bend the last 2 steel ones Ive fitted.

I would avoid cutting a bit out of the floor where the exhaust passes through, this is part of the monocoque structure and helps support the chassis legs!

I tried playing round with the straps and adjusting things for an age before I bowed to what seemed the inevitable......

Ok, I guess that's enough of the musical banter.

I've tinkered with the straps and jack option to no avail and am warming up the disc cutter.

Before I take a bite out of the body work i'm wondering if I cut the down pipe shorter what chance I would have of flaring the end again?

Any thoughts?

Trust me the jack and wood option works- I had to do it a few weeks ago. Its a bit of a pain and takes time, but better than chopping the bodywork like David says use the jack under the silencer, and line the exhaust up roughly, jam a decent piece of wood in the gap and I tend to try and jack the exhaust up tight to the manifold, with the wood still in place ensuring that the wood or exhaust does not slip in the process, and then attaching clamp and seal before re attaching the straps and then removing the jack and wood. That worked for me!

Whilst I'm on, any thoughts on why the blue main beam light is glowing when dipped and then fully illuminated on main beam?

I think the main beam foot switch may be wired up backwards.

From memory there are three wires. Locate the live one and swap over the two wires that go to your lights.

Still struggling with the exhaust - an inch off the downpipe would solve everything.
