I've received a clarification e-mail from the RAC re this 10 year thing.
There is no age limit to vehicles in the UK. This changes for foreign cover where a 10 year limit applies. BUT the vehicle can be covered for a supplementary fee.

Not so good news if you're taking a more than 10 yr old car abroad Kevin.
I submitted details for a quote on their website for a four day trip to Belgium with a car of less than 10 yrs old and one more than that age. 2 people including an RAC member. They state 11 years of age or more for the vehicle.
The first was £35 and the second £70

I wonder what they do when they go on the MOT, maybe Elaine from Chard can comment as she went on it this year.
