Not been too grand since last November and not actually been over the doorstep since a week before Christmas.... I've been going stir crazy :o
Went out yesterday in nice weather for the first time and it snowed from 10am onwards, very heavily.. enjoyed the run but suffered a bit today.
Off to bed now :-?

Where is the NER snowplough displayed? Remember it (or a very simiar one) being rebuilt/built at York Railway museum a few years back now and wondered what happened to it as they don't have it there now.
Our guide related a horrible story of one of these ploughs, being of wooden construction, the 'operator' in the cab got crushed as the steam loco rammed the immovable snow drift and something had to give. In this case it was the wooden bodied snow plough....
Seems we've never got the hang of snow in this country - the Europeans sorted it with with rotating cutters that scooped the snow up and off to one side of the track.

Anyway, back to Minors! Heres a pic of mine with the Snowgrips fitted:

The tracks already on the hill were me on the outward journey coming down, and for those who complain about repro chrome, the right hand rear bumper is an original one and the left hand is a new repro one :-?

Ian...
The snowplough is at Shildon Railway museum, I usually do a couple of shows there each year, I personally think it's better than York, but that's only my opinion :-? Well worth a visit though, and it's free..... best days are show days when they have a train running.
Couple of photo's of last years show.
