well we are not a branch, or a club, just a bunch that meet for a chat at the pub, mostly car related, but the topics have been diverse to say the least! My fear about posting leaflets on cars we see is that it's probably a step too far? and as has been said we don't want to tread on any official toes

I've actually just reserved some free web space after a post Jay left on the boards. I had intended to put up an index and a page for each pub we have been to, mostly se we can link and find them quickly again (we could add site to our signatures), but will also put up a page or two on who we are with pictures where I can.

web details to follow once I've knocked up an index page

so this week we are the Bold forester, and then next week aim for a pub on the east side of Southampton

I agree Rob. If we pick up extra bodies through the website or word of mouth, thats fine but I think advertising is a step too far.

Btw Robbies out of Hospital now. phew

I agree. I also like it that this is the most pleasantly disorganised part of my life :-)

Whooa boys now you're jumping ahead and drawing assumptions about what I said. 8) If you remember in the early days of SADMOG I was careful to post on this forum about the unofficial nature of the group. Any 'advertising' I would do would be purely as an invitation to a pub meet of friends with me as a contact and with no mention of the MMOC connection. I hope that every SADMOG member so far is aware of it's status and that there is are official MMOC Branches in existance. I have certainly tried to bring it to the attention of anyone new with doubts.

Enjoy this evening's do.

For those who attended on Thursday, and know about the non-morris we went to look at. It was purchased.

In terms of pubs. How about here.

Nice. We'll allow it to be brought on a thursday so we can see it. :-)
If you have any time, why not go on an advance scouting mission for us? :-)
Key question is: Is the beer any good?

Time???? Whats that Jim? Not something I know of!

even if the beer is rubbish I'm sure we could all make do!

BTW everyone, this is not a moggy van. its a bit bigger than that, doesn't have a radiator and the engine is at the wrong end (similar vintage though) - enough clues?

The van is better than expected. I spent a full half hour lying underneath it with a torch, prodding and poking and the worst I could find was some surface rust around the engine at the back and some light rust where the underseal had begun to flake away. There's some issues with the bodywork that need sorting, but I'm quite tempted to bung some gaffa tape over the rusty bits and send it off to the MOT man and see what he makes of it.

The interior is a little bit all over the place, and one of the indicator lenses is cracked (which I guess I will have to replace) Amazingly it was originally Orange, which it will be returned to!

Went a lil bit over budget but defiantly worth it

Its not yet back at Katies, but I'm sure there will be pics soon.

Now wheres my chicken wire and filler............

I know how you feel, I've had times like that. I'm currently very busy, but at least I have some spare time.
even if the beer is rubbish I'm sure we could all make do!
Errrm. Make do with rubbish beer? Not sure I understand the concept...
I'm quite tempted to bung some gaffa tape over the rusty bits and send it off to the MOT man and see what he makes of it.
£40 for an inspection of all the important bits is not too bad...
I'm sure there will be pics soon.
Cool, looking forward to it.

Lemming Lives! Now with added suspension travel! Poly eyebolt bushes fitted and raised by one spline so I'm not thumping over bumps, which is nice.

It took me about an hour and a half to get the locking wheelnuts off with a combination of a stud extractor and a socket hammered over the nut. I've replaced them with standard wheelnuts on the grounds that the car is so ludicrously easy to steal that nobody is going to nick just the wheels.

I was going to do the tiebar bushes but it was getting dark so I just put the seats back in - I want to drive the thing for a bit before I next start dismantling it...

And now, the agony uncle bit:

Dear Mike,
I need some headlamp advice. They're not aimed correctly, I need to work out how to point them using those little screws. Can you help?

:-)

Aaarghhhh- at last - my time has come... :o :o

a request for headlamp advice.... :-? :-?

Can I rise to the challenge???,
is my woodwork in A1 condition???, are my seats trimmed in the finest light blue leather?????, can I afford a smart hand made guitar with a fish on the headstock???......unfortunately no

...Jim - you've found me out  my specialist knowledge ref headlamps revolves around the removal of the bezel - unscrewing of the bucket and unplugging the old unit ("Refitting the new unit is the reverse of this procedure" - whare have I heard that one before??).

Still - I have heard that if you park a short distance (cant recall how far) from a wall / turn on your lights and look where the beam is shining, if it is too far L / R / up / down , turn the screw in or out as necessary (with the opposing screw turned in the opposite direction) then look to see if the beam has corrected - or its summat like that....but then you knew that anyway and were only stringing me along were'nt you...

Have a good evening tomorrow folks, im afraid its a bit too far for me to get to once the sprogs have been put to bed...(but Im really having to hide my hurt pride at not being able to rise to the headlamp challenge :( ....

...I dont suppose your dashpot needs topping up? - no! - thought not.
