I did an upright in my counter top dishwasher a while ago - Took a lot of scrubbing by hand and various chemicals to get the black gunk off the insdes

I now stick to using the bath/ shower, easier to clean up afterwards

Not silly at all, bits and pieces everywhere. The trick is to place them artistically for they are under-appreciated 'objets' from the petro-industrial movement of the late 20th Century.
