Request made, but you would think that someone here is bound to have some - mind you if they're scarce folk will hang on to them.
I'll be getting the ones pictured rechromed.

do you have a good address for that? I also still need some split bumpers, and those are rare as hens teeth too!

Should I just wiggle around a bit?
Dont forget that your trunnions may be ok and that your king pins may be worn out. Trunions get changed more frequently then the king pins, also the hardness of the material that is used to rebuild the threads on king pins is not very wear resistant.

I'll get myself an MOT man over then! They don't look very worn.

If the slots are in the last IMG, I can't see it/them

but by a cunning process of reverse engineering -
Voila - I presume this is the pic. You'd left a

Those slots might have been for some aftermarket high position trafficators or some other signalling devices as the 2-door trafficators are not very visible being so low.
p.s. I edited Onne's post to show the last pic.
p.p.s I recognise that bootlid!

Is it OK for you?

Not fair! I thought I'd solved it!

it is truly excellent Cam, thanks for editing...
shall I just weld those slots up then?
and what do you lot think of my trunnions? Aren't they cute...?

The trunnions are truly fab!
With regard to the slots, I would try to get them as flat as possible (using a slide hammer, dolly, etc) then weld them up (and the hole below).

Onne, if your car was pre-Sep 1950 which I think it is (july?) then the colour should be the same as this one:
That colour is Platinum Grey. VERY nice colour and you don't see that many Minors in that colour nowadays...
Here is yours again for a comparison:

Silly Question, do the lowlights have a different shaped bonnet to the later models???
they look identical in colour to me, taking into account different lighting, lenses etc

The lowlights and early highlights have the same bonnet (the short type - as seen in the photo of NWL above). This was changed for the long bonnet in August 1951.
So, all lowlights have the short bonnet. My 1952 highlight series MM has the long bonnet. This continued up until 1956 where the V shaped rear section was changed to accomodate the change from split-screen to a one piece screen.

So that means my car has to be platinum grey.... the black bits I found were done quite rudely, so I'll go for that then. Quite a nice colour too.
Pity I can't tell from the chassis number which colour it should be.
What colour was used by the morris factory as a primer? I have got the car down to some very sturdy red stuff, and there is bare metal beneath.
Does this also mean I have now ordered the wrong colour carpets? If that were the case, I will be going black, as it was in '79 when she was first registered in Holland, after being imported from Belgium

Onne, do you have ask Evert Spape, the historicist of the MMCN. He has the almost whole history of the sell Morris Minor’s in Holland. I have so been found the first owner, the dealer, the colour etc. of my car.
Perhaps he has colour information about your car.

Onne, as luck would have it, the interior for the Platinum grey cars is the same as for the black cars!
I have seen red primer too on early cars so it's probably original.
So, are you thinking of painting the car Platinum grey then?
