Has anyone followed up with Noise Killer for more info on product range, sales outlets, nominal sizes & prices ? Seems a waste for so much comment without some final detail.

I'll follow this up is interest is shown, i.e need more than just one enthusiastic person. I afraid this topic like so many others on the forum just fade away, after the initial interest has been established. If things are to progress a more positive interest is required as those who are probably well placed to to do the leg work will not bother

Rather lost my way here. Have become my father's executor and battles with solicitors and estate agents have eaten into valuable Moggie time.
All proper sound deadening material I've seen comes in at £5 a square foot, sometimes more, which I suspect is too dear for most people, and unless someone competent like Jonathon can advise on its use its a bit expensive to experiment with.
But I saw again today Marley's Undersheet (I think that's wot its called) used for roofing that's double sided sticky bitumastic, about 3mm thick and £25 for 6 sqare metres. Thro' Google, you can see some use this, but despite talking around here amongst friends I can find no experience of it. I fancy thying though.
I've done some more sound measurements, and if I can screw up courage and manage to get them in sight of you lot, you might find them interesting. MikeN.

I'd be interested in the sound material - however (as always!) - the two parts to that are a) the cost and b) when I can afford it

Is there a "ball park" best guess for the materials for, say, a 2 door - before the bulk discount?

Then any saving has to be a bonus!

Colin's remarks sound like a useful place to start. Noise Killer product sounded like it was 'model specific', so problems if a Morris model isn't produced. On the other hand, if their sound material can be trimmed to shape, then it could be a goer for the handy DIYer, which many of us are (or attempt to be). It then becomes a matter of identifying what part of the car is to be treated (ie underbonnet versus firewall versus interior (floorpan versus sides versus roof), the size needed for that and prices. Jonathan you've probably got the experience here to give helpful advice. Any responses ?

I'll phone Noise Killer tommorow and see if I can get them interested in a bespoke kit for the minor variants and the suitable materials for specific areas. I bought a sort of rubberised paint from them a while ago. It is fire proof but is easily applied with a paint brush , my intention was to paint the front and rear roof's of my trav, however I have not got that far with the car yet.
If a kit cannot be produced directly from noise killer then I would be prepared to buy in bulk and make the kits myself. I would require specific orders for this though as it will certainly be a sizeable financial outlay. I'll get the details first and advise as soon as possible

Promised this ages ago but only just discovered how to put it up here. Here's the internal noise of my '63 Traveller. The car's in good condition but with the original whistlely quarter light rubbers and the usual falling down carpet/underfelt on the engine bulkhead.

A bit small! I don't want to eat up memory, but how do you get things to come in at a reasonable size, folks? MikeN.

Resize them to a sensible size on your image software then save them. I tend to use one of the 'usual' sizes: 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 for display on here.

Quick update on kits.
I was meant to have a visit from the chaps at Noise Killer the week before christmas, but I'm afraid it never happened. We will try and re schedule for the newyear. They were very interested in this project, and I think we are persueing the line of a couple of kits, one basic and cheap, the other, a more effective kit, using the best material suitable, in specific areas of the car. A third possibility may be a component version of option two.
I will keep you posted as to any developments.
